Comparison of stamping elbow and hot push elbow
Compared with the hot push elbow process, the appearance quality of the stamping elbow is inferior to that of the hot push elbow; the outer arc of the stamping elbow is in the tensile state when forming, and there is no residual metal in other parts to compensate,so the wall thickness at the outer arc is about 10% thinner. However, due to the characteristics of single piece production and low cost, the stamping elbow process is mostly used for the production of small batch and thick wall elbow.
Stamping elbows are divided into cold stamping elbows and hot stamping elbows. Generally, cold stamping elbows or hot stamping elbows can be selected according to the data properties and equipment.
The forming process of cold extrusion elbow is to use a special elbow forming machine to put the tube blank into the external die. After the upper and lower dies are closed, the tube blank moves along the gap reserved in the internal mold and the outer mold under the push of the push rod to complete the forming process.
The elbow made by the cold extrusion process of inner and outer die is beautiful in shape, uniform in wall thickness and small in scale error. Therefore, the stainless steel elbow, especially the thin-wall stainless steel elbow, is usually made by this process. The precision of the die used in this process is high, and the requirement for the wall thickness error of the tube blank is also very strict.
