Branch connection fitting – weldolet

Outlet (also called tube base) provides a branch of a large-diameter pipe to a small-diameter pipe.The pipe on which the outlet is welded is called the Run pipe, and the pipe welded on the outlet is called the Branch pipe. Outlet is the reinforcing fitting mainly used branch pipe connection.

It has the advantages of safety and reliability, lower cost, simple construction, improved media flow path, series standardization, convenient design selection,  It is widely used in high-pressure, high-temperature, large-diameter, and thick-walled pipelines, and has replaced the traditional way of branch pipe connection.

The outlet’s body adopts high-quality forging fittings, and the material is same as the pipeline, including carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel.

The connection between outlet body and run pipe is welded,but there are three types of connection for outlet body and branch pipe or other pipe(short tube,plugs etc.),instrument, valve connection.They are butt welding connections, socket welding connections, and threaded connections.

The common manufacturing execution standards for outlet are MSS SP-97,GB/T19326.

Weldolet is the most common fitting of branch connection.It has a beveled end,and connected to the branch pipe by butt welding,so it belongs to butt weld fittings. The design of the weldolet minimizes stress concentration and provides overall reinforcement.
