What is the difference between American elbow and National elbow?

The biggest difference between the American Standard pipe fittings and the national standard pipe fittings is the size. The American standard is often referred to as series A in China, and the national standard is series B.

For example, elbow: DN100 * 6, nominal diameter is DN100, the outer diameter of national standard DN100 is 108mm, the thickness is 6mm, the inch of American Standard DN100 is 4 “, the outer diameter is 114.3mm, the thickness is 6mm, and the length of American standard elbow is slightly longer than that of national standard. It is also said that the pipe fittings with the same nominal diameter (including elbows, tees, reducer and pipe caps) have different caliber sizes in the American Standard and the national standard.

The national standard is divided into a series and B series, which are two outer diameter sizes.

The size of a series and American standard is corresponding. At present, most of China’s steel tube plants can produce materials according to two standards, the difference is:

  1. Chemical composition, China’s s s, P content requires more stringent weight
  2. The mechanical property requirements are slightly different, roughly equivalent
