Haihao Group Supplies Large-Diameter X52 PSL-2 Tees for Saudi NEOM Project

Haihao Group has completed the production of large-diameter pipe fittings for a Saudi Arabia NEOM project, including 80-inch equal tees and reduced tees with reinforcement pads. Manufactured from API 5L X52 PSL-2-W plate, these fittings are designed for a large-diameter pipeline system where dimensional control, material traceability and coating protection are important project requirements.

The order includes 51 pieces of 80-inch equal tees, 22 pieces of 80″/48″ reduced tees and 6 pieces of 72″/48″ reduced tees. The fittings are supplied with an external 3PE coating and internal FBE lining, providing a combined corrosion-protection system for demanding pipeline service.

80-Inch X52 Fittings for the NEOM Project

Large-diameter fittings require more than simply increasing the dimensions of a conventional tee. The forming process, reinforcement design, welding quality, heat treatment, dimensional accuracy and coating application all need to be controlled together.

For this Saudi project, Haihao Group produced API 5L X52 fittings in several configurations. The equal tee is supplied in 80-inch size with a 20.62 mm wall thickness, while the reduced tees connect different pipeline diameters and use different wall thicknesses.

The specification limits shown on the original test record are C ≤0.24, Mn ≤1.40, S ≤0.015, P ≤0.025, Si ≤0.45, Cr ≤0.30, Ni ≤0.30, Mo ≤0.15, Cu ≤0.50, V ≤0.10, Ti ≤0.04, Nb ≤0.05, B ≤0.001 and CEpcm ≤0.25.

Mechanical Test Results

Mechanical testing was recorded according to the ASTM A370 test section shown in the supplied inspection data. The results include yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and hardness.

The test record indicates the applicable mechanical property ranges as 360–530 MPa for yield strength, 460–760 MPa for tensile strength and ≥20% elongation.

External 3PE Coating and Internal FBE Lining

For the Saudi NEOM project, the large-diameter fittings are specified with 3PE external coating and FBE internal lining.

The two coating systems serve different protection requirements:

  • 3PE external coatingprovides multi-layer protection against external moisture, soil and corrosive environmental conditions.
  • FBE internal liningforms a protective barrier on the internal surface of the fitting.

The order includes both equal and reduced tees with reinforcement pads. Compared with standard small-diameter fittings, large-diameter tees involve significantly greater component dimensions and require close control of the branch connection area.
