Cooling methods of common forgings after forming

There are the cooling methods of common forgings after forming:

In order to prevent the surface cracking of high carbon steel and high alloy steel, it is necessary to stack cooling, furnace cooling, sand embedding cooling or baking slow cooling in front of furnace after forging, and then conduct heat treatment in time.

Austenitic stainless steel needs to be watered immediately after forging. The purpose is to keep the existing grain size as soon as possible without growing up. At the same time, it does not want to have more internal structure or particle precipitation, and then solid solution treatment.

All other conventional medium and low carbon steel and low alloy steel forgings must be padded with air cooling after forging. The purpose is to make the cooling uniform, structure uniform and performance uniform, prevent the grain growth and mixed crystal, and make it easy to write identification. The surface temperature of ferrous metal forgings before heat treatment shall not be less than 50 ℃ to prevent white spots.
