Production Challenges

Specialized Hole Treatments:
The tube sheets required highly accurate hole placements, differing significantly from typical designs. Each hole was carefully drilled to prevent deformation, ensuring that the holes met the structural needs specified by the client. This demanded the use of advanced machinery and stringent quality control processes to ensure the positions and accuracy of the holes were perfectly aligned with the project’s requirements.

Beveling Techniques:
The tube sheets included welding bevels around the holes to facilitate seamless welding. Achieving these bevels required precision machining to meet industry standards. Accurate angle calculations were essential to support strong welds and reduce the possibility of defects during the welding phase.

Unique Shape Design:
The distinctive external shape of the tube sheets added to the complexity of the project. Material Performance

The batch of custom-shaped tube sheets was manufactured using SA 182 F321, a material known for its exceptional properties:

  • Corrosion Resistance: F321 provides outstanding protection in various corrosive environments.
  • High-Temperature Durability: This material maintains its strength and stability under high-temperature conditions, making it ideal for demanding environments.
  • Weldability: The low carbon content of F321 enhances its ability to be welded, ensuring strong, durable joints, essential for the integrity of the tube sheets.
  • Resistance to Sensitization: F321 is specifically engineered to reduce the risk of sensitization, which can cause intergranular corrosion, particularly in high-heat applications.
