What is pipe spool?

The prefabricated components of a piping system are called pipe spools. They include pipes, flanges and fittings, which are installed during manufacture prior to delivery for construction.

They are pre installed to facilitate assembly using cranes, gauges and other assembly tools. The segment connects the long pipe to the end flange so that it can be bolted to another pipe with a matching flange.
