What is 180 degree elbow?

An elbow is a pipe fitting which is widely used as a connection point between two lengths of pipes to produce a change in the direction of flow in the pipe, usually at an angle of 45 degree,90 degree and 180 degree. Elbows are also commonly referred as bends, and are available in a range of materials such as nickel alloys, stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, duplex, supper duplex,etc. Long Radius 180 degree return bend allows complete reversal of flow. The distance between end of elbow and center line is 3 x NPS. Short radius 180 degree return bend allows complete reversal of flow but in a much tighter turn. The distance between end of elbow and center line is 1 x NPS.
