Introduction of hot pressed elbow
Hot-pressed elbow is a kind of elbow which is made by using professional equipment after heating the pipe, then cutting and heating it to the critical temperature. After holding for a period of time, the elbow is put into the quenching agent quickly, so that its temperature drops sharply, and the elbow is made by the method of rapid cooling which is faster than the critical cooling speed.
One of the treatment methods: quenching
Quenching is to heat the elbow above the critical temperature for a period of time, and then quickly put into the quenching agent, so that its temperature drops sharply, cooling faster than the critical cooling speed, and obtain a martensite-dominated unbalanced structure of the heat treatment method. Quenching can increase the strength and hardness of steel, but reduce its plasticity. The common quenchants used in quenching are water, oil, alkali water and salt solution.
Processing Method II: Normalizing
Normalizing is a heat treatment method that heat the hot-pressed elbow to above the critical temperature so that all the hot-pressed elbows are transformed into homogeneous austenite and then naturally cooled in the air. Normalizing can eliminate the net cementite of hypereutectoid hot-pressing elbow. For hypoeutectoid hot-pressing elbow, normalizing can refine the crystal lattice and improve the comprehensive mechanical properties. It is more economical to replace quenching process with normalizing for elbow with low requirement.
