The raw material could be forgings,bars,plates,seamless pipes or fusion welded pipes.But ERW pipe is not suitable to be used to produce the WPL6 pipe fittings.The raw material steel shall be made by a recognized melting process to meet the impact test requirement of the low temperature services standard.Commonly we use the ASTM A333 GR.6 steel pipes and ASTM A203 steel plates as the raw material of WPL6 fittings.

Forging or forming operations shall be performed by hammering,pressing,piercing,extruding,working,bending,fusion-welding,or machining,or by a combination of two or more of these operations.If the fittings are cold forming,such as the tees,the penetrant test or magnetic particle exam is necessary to proceed.

All fittings shall be furnished in the normalized,normalized andtempered,annealed,or quenched and tempered condition.All welding shall be completed prior to the austenitizing heat treatment.
